Waist, length and Sweatshort versus Classic proportions.

1977, Sweatshort or Classic?

1977 is a motif, not a length or season. Compare the individual chart, rise and inseam for Sweatshort and Classic Sweatshort.

Shorts waist, length and size

Start with the waist, rise and leg length.

  1. Compare waist circumference with shorts you like. Check whether the chart measures a relaxed or stretched waistband.
  2. Measure inseam from the crotch to the hem. It is different from total length from the waist.
  3. For a looser shape, check rise and leg opening too. A smaller size will also narrow the waist.

Product pages provide a named-cut chart or a labelled indicative chart. These are reference dimensions, not our own measurements of every item in stock.

How seasons and cuts differ

A newer season does not automatically mean a wider cut. The model, fabric and construction determine its proportions. The same size letter can fit differently between releases.

SS, FW and earlier releases

An older Sweatshort and a Classic Sweatshort need not have the same length or rise. SP23 helps identify a release; the 1977 graphic alone does not identify its year.

From spring 2025

From spring 2025, the brand changed its sizing system and introduced new cuts. Check the Classic Sweatshort chart rather than copying your size from older shorts.

Cut and proportions

A baggy short is about more than width. Inseam, rise and leg opening all matter. Do not compare Classic, jersey and other versions solely by season or colour name.

Washing and shorts care

Follow the care label on the specific shorts. Jersey and fleece may need different treatment. Avoid trying to alter length with a hot wash or tumble dryer.
